Ranged fire between both your party and the enemy occurs first regardless, and then melee combat. Your character's speed controls their turn order. Especially useful on console.Ĭombat in this game occurs via turns. In the item and skill tab is a reorder button, so you can move skills or items you use a lot to the front so they are easier to access. The pool button pools all the money your party has to that character, while divide will divide that person's money between the entire party equally (but will not do the same for everyone else's money). In the item tab, you can equip and unequip items, drop stuff you don't want and trade stuff to other characters in your party. On the stats page you can see their stats, and there are tabs for their items and skills.
Wasteland remastered guide Pc#
While on PC you just hit their # which is a thousand times easier. On console, if you want to look at a character's stats, you have to hold down, move the analog stick in the direction of the character you want, and then press. Journal - This is basically a quest log, but you can also view your stats here, so you can see how close you are to the 1000 kills or 50k cash earned achievements. There are a couple of places where you can safely do it, but you will not heal nearly as fast as you do in the overworld. Camping in overworld is by far the best way to pass time and to heal, but you will have to deal with random encounters. It's only really needed in one area though. The other useful feature is that you can see radioactive spots at night, so it can be helpful to wait until night to enter some areas. The main use is that your characters heal over time, so you'll be camping a lot unless you want to buy the doctor vendors a new car. You press it and time fast forwards awhile, with the time you wait being completely different depending on where you are. If you have levelled up, you will immediately have to use the stat points gained.Ĭamp - This is basically a wait command. When they have enough experience to level up, you need to use this command to radio to the Ranger Center and get a promotion. Radio - Characters do not automatically level up in this game. If you choose help you can look at the game manual. Pause - This opens the menu that allows you to save/load, quit, change options and so on. View - If you've split your party into 2 or more groups, you use this command to switch which party you are controlling. I suppose another use is you can have your ranged attackers stand their ground and fire while you split the melee characters off and have them close the distance to melee attack, but I usually don't bother. You can split everyone into more than 2 parties if you like. Now choose a direction for the split party to move to separate them. To do so choose disband, pick everyone you want to split off from the main party, and then choose done. This isn't used much, but is in a few places. When you pick disband and then an NPC, you can choose to kick them forever. The first is removing an NPC from your party. Note that the number changes each time you pick someone, so if you're on PC hitting the number keys you can mess up your party order pretty easily.ĭisband - This has two uses. Once selected, pick the person that will go into the first slot, then the second, and so on. Order - Use this to change the order of your party. You can also start an encounter if you want to reload everyone's guns, this is much faster than going into the menu and reloading everyone's gun manually. For example, you can start an encounter by an NPC you can hire, then have everyone use the hire command on them to try and get them on your team.

This can be used to start a fight with an enemy that isn't actively attacking you, but it also has other uses. You'll be doing this a ton throughout the game.ĮNC - This starts a fight. In order to use something, you need to press the button for the Use command, pick a character, pick whether they are going to use a skill, item or attribute, pick which one, and then either push the analogue stick/arrow key in the direction you want to use it or use it on the ground you're standing on. If you're lucky standing on the object will give you a hint as to what you need to do. If you need to use a key on a door, the game won't tell you. Use - This command allows you to use skills, attributes or items on the environment, objects or people. If you look at the bottom of the screen, you'll see the game shows you what buttons do what, but I think it's worth talking about each one in a game like this. As I mentioned on the previous page, this game is quite obtuse both in the way it operates, and how puzzles are solved.
